Province of St. Louise
Provincial Assembly 2021
Directional Statement
Provincial Assembly 2021 is part of the story of the Daughters of Charity, a story that began when God's Spirit connected the faith and the lives of Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac, and imparted to the world the Vincentian Charism. Our desire to live this charism is richly imbued with the legacy of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Our Directional Statement is our call to Encounter: Ephata, to be open, to break through the barriers, and to commit to the profound challenges of Provincial Assembly 2021:
OPEN COMMUNICATION
We commit to breaking through our vulnerabilities, to nurturing trust and a spirituality of communion, through skill building, emphasizing gratitude, accepting differences, and having courageous conversations.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION
We commit to breaking through our prejudices, stereotypes, and biases, and engaging in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion formation in our ministries and among ourselves.
We commit to breaking through our independence and to caring for vulnerable and oppressed populations by acknowledging our interdependence and our responsibility to Care for our Common Home.
VINCENTIAN IDENTITY AND COLLABORATION
We commit to breaking through our silos and to collaborating with persons living in poverty, the Vincentian family, young adults, and those with a similar mission to serve in creative and inclusive ways.
We commit to breaking open access to Vincentian Formation and to developing and engaging in formation programs that are historically accurate, collaboratively planned, and are available virtually as well as through in-person presentations and experiences.
ADMINISTRATION
We commit to breaking through to the current and emerging needs of those living in poverty by an objective assessment and revision of our ministries and properties.
We commit to breaking through to encounter each other and to deepen a climate of communication, transparency, and quality relationship among all levels of leadership and each sister in order to support the life and ministry of one another.
